Whether and where the BASE participants were receiving medical treatment was asked (1) in the EE (two single items) and (2) within the IP-questionnaire "Beschwerden - Behandlung - Arzneimittel" (Complaints - Treatment - Medication), which was developed by the BASE psychiatry unit: After a few standardized opening questions about their general state or health, participants were asked to list (1) subjective health complaints they had had during the past two weeks (see complaints), (2) which physicians or other persons they had consulted for (medical) treatment during the past three months, and (3) medication they had used during the past two weeks (see medication). Answers in text form were coded.
